The team from Anweshan visited Bode Health Post and a Primary Health Centre, Duwakot located in Bhaktapur on Friday along with members from NHSSP/DFID and Health Management Information System Unit of Department of Health Services. As part of an ongoing project on a software development of Electronic Health Record (EHR), the team discussed with the officials and observed and monitored the existing reporting system.
The expert team also demonstrated the ongoing work on the EHR development and sought their feedback on the system.
In coordination with NHSSP and HMIS, the company has been involved in developing a software on Electronic Health Record (EHR). Prior to the field visit, Anweshan had meticulously examined the present reporting system of HMIS that is operational in health post and primary health care centres. The company further drafted implementation guidelines on the particular software and carefully dissected the benefits and challenges that are likely to occur in health centres post-software use. The project initially plans to regulate the software utility in few health institutions as pilot testing and extend its flow to a larger scale after ensuring its practicability.
The primary objective of EHR software is to ensure simplicity and standardized form of registering health records in clinical institutions through digitalization. In addition, this project envisions to propose a crucial landmark in the course of ICT4D initiative by helping to achieve desirable progress in health sectors through the proper use of technological advancement.
