April 21, 2018

Anweshan developed a 2D animation video in order to highlight the global and national progress and challenges in Trachoma elimination. 3-minute long animation video produced by Anweshan maintains all the rights and is accepted and approved by WHO Nepal and will be used in mass-awareness raising.

Trachoma, the leading infectious cause of blindness worldwide, is caused by repeated episodes of an ocular infection with Chlamydia trachomatis. Globally, trachoma affects an estimated 200 million people with 1.9 million blind or severely visually impaired in 42 countries. The Nepal Blindness Survey in the 1980's found that Trachoma was a leading cause of vision loss and made it a national public health priority.
