Nepal’s Southern Region experienced a period of intense, sustained rainfall that inundated almost 80% of land in Terai. 35 district out of 77 were affected adversely. The humanitarian assistance during the period was immediate and was executed with rigorous planning and multisectoral response. International assistance from People’s Republic of China was welcomed and in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, UNDP launched the recovery project aimed to directly assist flood affected families in seven districts across Province 1 and 2.

Anweshan prepared the report for UNDP summarizing the major actions taken during the post flood recovery period. The report is acquainted with visual aids that provides the details of province area of project, district selected and target beneficiaries in the form of infographics. The prepared report reflect the project impact and its proven result in most significant way. The project itself offered a template of good practice that has the potentiality of being replicated in future in similar crisis scenario. The recovery interventions strategy, implementation process and lesson learnt comprised the useful model for quick impact recovery efforts. And here, Anweshan plays the role to best portray it.
